Generations Home Care traces its roots to 1961, when the New Castle Presbytery founded Presbyterian Social Services as a ministry to those living in Wilmington’s inner city. Today we remain just as steadfast in our dedication to serving the communities of Delaware, with a mission to provide services that nurture independence and improve quality of life.
Without our services, many of our state’s aging and disabled adults would have to make the choice they dread most – leaving the comfort and security of their home environment and moving to an assisted living facility or nursing home. Public and private funding sources now enable us to serve seven times as many clients as we did when we hired our first home health aides in 1972.
Our efforts were recognized in 2005 by Quality Insights of Delaware, the state’s Medicare quality improvement organization, when Generations was named as the recipient of the Golden Apple Award. This award was given in recognition of our leadership in improving the quality of care in our community.
As proud as we are of the legacy of service that we have built over the last 40 years, Generations Home Care is always looking to the future so we can respond to new areas of concern and expand our programs to meet emerging challenges. If you or a loved one is struggling with health care needs, please contact the Generations Home Care office nearest you. We are committed to improving the quality of care and the quality of life for all in the communities we serve.
