Skilled nursing
– Registered nurses provide professional nursing care for an entire
range of medical needs. Working under the direction of the patient’s
doctor, the nurse implements the plan of care.
Physical therapy
– Certified physical therapists work to help patients regain physical
function and improve range of motion. Therapists may help patients with
gait training, use of wheelchairs, walkers, artificial limbs, and with
pain control.
Occupational therapy
– Occupational therapists help each patient learn to better perform
activities of daily living. These activities may include eating, bathing,
grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Speech therapy
– Through an effective speech program, patients learn to better
use and comprehend language. Enhanced written, spoken, and nonverbal
communication helps patients gain greater independence and improved
quality of life.
Home health aides
– Home health aides help patents with personal care services such
as grooming, bathing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Such
services not only help the patient feel better but also contribute to
the patient’s overall health and well-being.
Medical Social
Work – Medical social workers can provide
patients and families with practical assistance with problems they encounter.
They often help families obtain additional community services.
Adult Foster Care
– This program has been part of Generations Home Care for over
30 years. Generations is the only health care agency in Delaware to
offer this service. Foster caregivers provide a safe, affordable alternative
to adult day care or nursing home placement. Caregivers open their homes
and their hearts to elderly people in need of minimum assistance and
companionship. Clients live in nurturing environments where their everyday
needs are met.
Medical Transportation
– Door to door, personalized medical transportation is provided
by professional, courteous drivers. Generations Home Care has a fleet
of 8 vehicles statewide. Wheelchair accessible transportation is available
in New Castle and Sussex Counties.
Housekeeping
Services – Non skilled care, such as light
housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation are all
services provided by Generations Home Care housekeepers to help clients
maintain their sense of independence in familiar surroundings.
Companion
Services – Non skilled care, such as companionship
and conversation, sort/read mail, arrange and accompany to appointments,
meal planning and preparation, medication and light exercise reminders.
Generations Home Care is able to provide assisted living services to seniors
who want the benefits of assisted living, but wish to remain in their own homes.
Respite Care
– While family members and friends take on the role of caregivers
for their loved ones, it is sometimes necessary to take a break from
these care-giving responsibilities. Generations Home Care is able to
provide service to those individuals who require a rest from their daily
care-giving routine.
